A drama that never fails to put a grin on my face, the immature and cute Nodame and the arrogant intellectual Chiaki. This is a drama I would definitely recommend to anyone.

Sypnonsis:

Megumi Noda, (more commonly known as Nodame by her peers), is a pianist at Momogaoka College of Music. Nodame is a talented pianist who can play music by ear. Nodame is extremely disorganized and messy. She takes baths every two days and washes her hair every three days causing her to permanently smell. Her room looks like a war zone. Nodame likes to eat, she relishes stolen delicacies from her friend’s lunch box.

Shinichi Chiaki is a Momogaoka’s top student. Born in a musical family, Chiaki is very talented in the piano and the violin. He hates riding on the coattails of his father who is an international pianist. Chiaki and has a secret ambition in becoming a conductor. At the start of the series, Chiaki is a arrogant snob who is confined in Japan due to a childhood phobia. Nodame eventually gets him over his fears.

Nodame and Chiaki meet by chance (even though they are neighbors, they seem to have never meet each other before) Nodame quickly becomes infatuated with Chiaki, however it takes Chiaki much much longer to appreciate Nodame’a special qualities and talents. Because of Nodame, Chiaki is given an opportunity to conduct a student orchestra during this Chiaki begins to become more open minded about music and people.

Because of Chiaki, Nodame faces her fears and enters a piano competition, wanting to catch up with Chiaki.

The couple face many hardships and ordeals (the kotatsu invasion) but manages to pull through in the end to reach their dreams.

I’m only going to do it on Chiaki and Nodame only, if i have to do everyone in the drama it’d take me years…

Megumi Noda:

I envy her soo much! As a pianist I have often fantasized playing music by ear; (playing music by ear means to listen to a piece and play it out on an instrument with out score.) I laugh every time I see her messy room. But I don’t think a human being can actually live in those ‘primitive’ conditions.:P I love her grand piano though. It’s so cool, I’ve always wanted a grand piano. *drools*. Nodame is the klutzy type and lazy too. She wears one-piece clothing all the time because they are easier to take on and off. -_- Nodame despite being a bit dumb has a sensitive and sweet side. In the drama she is also portrayed as an Otaku.

Shinichi Chiaki:

He’s just talented in every way, =.= I find it cute how he has a soft spot for Nodame. It’s hilarious when people talk about airplanes in front of him. He gets a seizure and shakes involuntarily. The reason why he can’t go to France to study aboard is because of his tragic flight landing when he was little but Nodame helps him through it by hypnotizing him. 🙂
